“It’s so great that my children get to meet kids from other synagogues at Sunday School. It says a lot about Chattanooga that we can all work together.”
Welcome back to a new year under new leadership. My name is Traci Sloan and I am excited to rejoin this wonderful collaboration between B’nai Zion and Mizpah Congregations. After taking time off to be a full time mother, I pursued a position with the Signal Centers Children’s Program. I’m currently the Operations Coordinator for their developmental preschool program, which serves both typically-developing children and those with disabilities/special needs.
As a proud mother of a 9 year old and 19 years of experience in early childhood education, I know how important it is to give children the foundation for early learning. Whether secular or religious, we should empower ourselves to give our children the very best of both. I look forward to joining you in your child’s Jewish education.
This year CJCRS will be held at B’nai Zion Synagogue, 114 McBrien Road. The first regular day of school was Sunday, August 21st. We will have 27 sessions total, with the last day of school May 7th, 2017 (see handy clip-out schedule, right). We have lots of exciting events planned for this year, including our Annual Turkey Train, holiday programs, a Purim carnival next spring, and much more!
Our new teachers this year include Jan Suhrbier, Will Potts, Laurie Fisher and Eytan Oren. Returning teachers are Randi Weiss and Trent Center, and Paula Israel will lead our Madrichim program of wonderful teens. We are also thrilled to have Ali Duhan, ISJL Fellow with the program again!
We look forward to working with you toward our common goal of making Judaism meaningful to our children and teens. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at 423-285-0241 or cjcrsDir@gmail.com.
